Zagora is a village in eastern Pelion and the seat of the municipality of Zagora-Mouresi in the prefecture of Magnesia and is 47 km from the city of Volos. It is the largest village of Pelion with 2,074 inhabitants and consists of the districts of Agios Georgios, Agia Kyriaki, Agia Paraskevi or Perachora and Sotira. Centuries-old plane trees, running waters, mansions and traditional cafes are some of the characteristics of Zagora and we realize it from the first turn after Chania.<\/p>\n

Zagora is authentically Pelion with imposing mansions, stone fountains and impressive public buildings that testify to the long history of the village. On the square is the library of Zagora, which dates from the 18th century and houses on its shelves almost 3,000 volumes, maps and documents of the 17th and 18th century and is, together with the Hellenic Museum, which is the oldest school in Pelion, one of the most important sights of the area.<\/p>\n
